Description
This Jurassic Shrimp Aeger tipularius for sale comes from the famous Solnhofen Limestone. The fossil is in very good condition and all the antenna prepared out. Also the last very long leg pair is showing. The Crustacean Aeger is one of the most found Crustaceans in the Solnhofer Plattenkalk (Solnhofen Limestone). When I say that , i don’t say there is a lot of them. Fossils in the Solnhofen Plattenkalk deposits are rare in general. Only mining activity over the years brought them up in time.
The fossil Jurassic shrimp Aeger tipularius for sale here measures head to toe without the antenna 3.5 inches or 9 cm.
Due to less demand in decorative stones the production of Solnhofen Limestones slowed down since the 1990’s. Many quarries closed down. The final blow came in July 2023, when production seized (for now?). The storages for Solnhofen Limestones are full.
