Description

The  Leptolepides sprattiformis Solnhofen fish fossil here comes from the Obere Hardt quarry in Langenaltheim. Langenaltheim is just a few kilometers away from Solnhofen.

The fossil is almost colorless, like many others found in the area. It is about 7 cm long and shows vertebrae, head, tail and rib bones.
