Description
Fossil Horseshoe Crab Mesolimulus walchi from Solnhofen Limestones for sale. Horseshoe Crabs have a frontpart called Prosoma and a rear part called Opisthosoma with the tail. There are two facet eyes located on top of the Prosoma. Horseshoe Crabs are still existing today. That makes Mesolimulus a living fossil.
The Horseshoe Crab Mesolimulus walchi here is 13 cm or 5.1 ” long from head to tail. There are some repaired cracks visible. Note that the left part of the head on the left side of the long crack is replaced. Stil a nice fossil for a bargain price. Horseshoe Crabs are rare and pricy.
