Trilobites from France appear lately in larger numbers due to new discoveries of fossil sites. Brittany or the Amorican Massif has many sites, where Trilobites can be found. Montagne Noir in the south offers recently by hobby palaeontologists discovered sites. Both produce higher numbers of Trilobites in recent years.
France has a number of protected fossil sites but in general it is legal to look for fossils. Even in some protected sites you are allowed to pick surface fossils, but without tools. The public accessibility through quarries or general collecting has created a fossil paradise. Therefore France has a large community of fossil collectors. French Ammonites are already famous in collections and they are now followed by Trilobites from France.
