Nobiliasaphus nobilis Trilobite

Description

Nice preserved quality Nobiliasaphus nobilis Trilobite from France for sale. The fossil is from the  Darrivillien stage of the Middle Ordovician age. Darrivillian is the french term for Llandeilo or Dobrotivian.

The Trilobite species is found in France and Spain.

The specimen here is 3.8 cm or 1 7/8 inches long. There are no alternations on the fossil. Shows lot of detail. A small fraction along the right side of the cephalon seems to be missing. Not more than a millimeter. It is hard to tell do to the typical slaty cleavage of the rock and fossil. All together a nice piece.

France yields plenty of fossils among them plenty of Trilobite species. The fossil friendly policy of the French Government Makes it a fossil hunters paradise. Already known for the various sites with Jurassic Ammonites all over the country. Now new Opportunities and new Discoveries in the Ordovician Period, like St Aubin Des Chateaux and in Montagne Noir will bring more attantion to the Trilobites and other fossils of France.
