Description

Geocoma carinata a Solnhofen fossil Brittle Star comes from the quarry in Zandt. Brittle Stars like Geocoma and Sinosura appear in certain quarries like near Hienheim and Zandt. They are located on the outskirts of the Solnhofer Plattenkalk area . Geocoma is mainly known from Zandt, but occurs rae also in Langenaltheim. Sinosura is known from Hienheim, which has a different geological age. Since these quarries are closed like many others these fossils become more rare seen objects in the area . The fossil measures 1,75 inch or 4,5 cm. This Geocoma carinata Solnhofen fossil shows fine structure of arm segments and center head.
