Large Jurassic Ammonite Orthosphinctes for sale

Description

This Large Orthosphinctes Ammonite for sale comes from the location Bischberg, a commercially used quarry in Bavaria which covers Malm gamma 1 and 2. This specimen of the Jurassic Ammonite Orthosphinctes for sale here is 11.5 cm or 4.5 ” in diameter.

The Ammonites of the Malm gamma are hard to determine, since they change in evolution but mostly also during growth which seams to appear in 3 stages and finally due to sexes. There is new work in progress to find keys for specimen determination.

The fossils of the Bischberg location are rare and older fossils since the owner of the quarry does not grant access anymore. These large are even more rare.
