Description

Nice quality Eodalmanitina macrophtalma Trilobite from France for sale. The left eye has most of the facetts preserved. Right eye has some damage. Very rare, the tail spine is present, but more as a imprint. The Trilobite measures 5.4 cm or 2 1/8 inches from the front of the head to the tails end. The spine is not included in the measurement.

The trilobite was first named as Calimene macrophtalma and Dalmanitina macrophtalma by Brongniart in 1822. Eodalmanitina became the name of the genus by Henry in 1964. The species is found in Spain and France.

The fossil is from the  Darrivillien stage of the Middle Ordovician age. Darrivillian is the French term for Llandeilo or Dobrotivian.
