Description
Wonderful Jurassic water bug Scarabaeides deperdites for sale. As a ferocious predator it would hunt small animals. Scarabaeides deperditus was until 2000 called Mesobelostomum deperditum. The bug is from the Suborder Heteroptera which represents “True Bugs”. It is therfore related to many of todays water dwelling bugs like the Water Scorpions and the Backswimmers, but also further to Bedbugs. The Scarabaeides here is 3 cm or 1.2 inches long. The slab is about 6 inches or 15 cm long and 5 inches or12,5 cm wide. Scarabaeides is one of the more rare insect fossils in the Solnhofen Limestones.
