10.75″ Dikelokephalina brechleyi Trilobite

Large 10.75″ Dikelokephalina brechleyi Trilobite for sale at the online store fossilcave.com. The well preserved Trilobite comes from the Late or Upper Tremadoc (Lower Ordovician) Fezouata shales in the Draa Valley north of Zagora. The Fezouata shales are known for their well preserved fossils. There are for shure two species of the genus Dikelokephalina known. Dikelokephalina brechleyi from the Antiatlas (Zagora region is part of that) and Dikelokephalina furca from Great Britain. Four more species where described from South Korea in 1934 and 1960 by Kobayashi. Dikelokephalina kamaegata (1934), Dikelokephalina asiatica (1934), Dikelokephalina parva (1960) and Dikelokephalina conica (1960). They all come from the Upper Tremadoc.

The 27.2 cm or 10.75″ Dikelokephalina brechleyi Trilobite specimen for sale here has very little repairs. There might be some minor repair on the third and fourth pleura from the tail on the right side. Maybe 2 cm x 2 cm.

There are one glued crack, left to right, through thorax above the tail. On the left and the right of that crack the slab  the Trilobite is on has some filler (mostly as topping) in grey. The cephalon is somewhat scratched in the prparation process. It is an older Trilobite prepaired maybe 10 to 15 years ago. The Trilobite is a natural unchanged beauty. The here sold fossil is a real fossil as stated in terms and conditions.
