Description

Complete, well preserved and large Chlamys from The Bajocian of Evrecy near Caen in France. The fossil shows lots of details and is prepared with a little stand. The cracks on the left side are just surface cracks and they are not glued. Ligament impressions show in good shape. The clam measures from the ligaments to the front tip 8.5 cm or 3.3 inches.

The construction of a commercial complex with large foundations and the construction of nearby housing on the northern hill slope of Evrecy led to amazing Bajocian fossil finds.Unfortunately these times are over and until further construction there is little chance that more fossils show up.
