Eodalmanitina macrophtalma Trilobite from France

Description

Nice quality Eodalmanitina macrophtalma Trilobite from France for sale. Eyes have some facetts preserved. The tail spine is only as imprint preserved. The trilobite was first named as Calimene macrophtalma and Dalmanitina macrophtalma by Brongniart in 1822. Eodalmanitina became the name of the genus by Henry in 1964. The species is found in Spain and France.

The fossil is from the  Darrivillien stage of the Middle Ordovician age. Darrivillian is the french term for Llandeilo or Dobrotivian.

The Trilobite species is found in France and Spain.

The Eodalmanitina macrophtalma Trilobite from France here is from head to tail tip 4.3 cm or 1.65 inches long. The only as imprint preseved tail spine is not included in the measurement. That would make it 5.8 cm or 2.25 inches long. There are no alternations on the fossil.
