This Subplanites moernsheimense comes from the Moernsheim Formation of Muehlheim near Solnhofen in Bavaria, Germany.

Subplanites moernsheimense replaces evolutionary the other Subplanites specimen from the Eichstaedt Formation (Solnhofer Plattenkalk) below.

This specimen has still the Aaptych in place.

A clear fixative has been applied to make strucktures more visible. It is a common procedure and done by professional Preperation in the area.

This specimen is 8.2 cm or 3.25 ” in diameter.

Plate is 5 x 4 inch or 10,2 x 12,7 cm.
