Good size quality Trilobite Asaphiscus wheeleri from the Wheeler shale in Utah. The Trilobite Asaphiscus wheeleri is found in the Wheeler Shale in Utah. Asaphiscus wheeleri is more rare than his companion Elrathia kingi. Wheeler Shale occurs around the town of Wheeler in Utah after which it is named. The deposits date to the mid Cambrian period and they are about 507 million years old. Trilobites of the Wheeler Shale are preserved in black Calcite and occur in very beautiful condition.
The trilobite measures 4 cm or 1 9/16 inches.
